Oprah as Oscar host?

In the endless fight to make the Academy Awards cool again, rumors of Oprah Winfrey's possible gig as hostess ignited excitement all through the pop culture realm.
The elation from Oprah-as-host speculation was short-lived, however, as multiple sources from within the Academy have spoken out against the Sun Times' statement.
“The camera loves Oprah. Oprah’s a genius. The Academy also gave a statement to Access Hollywood, acknowledging that "every year there’s great interest and excitement about who will host the Oscars.
