Gay pastors intend married in New York

Reverend Ouyang Wen Feng, a controversial gay pastor from Malaysia intends to marry his fiancee in New York and held a wedding reception in the country. This plan does not doubt cause opposition, especially from local government. He conveyed the matter to the Associated Press, Tuesday, August 16, 2011. She said her wedding reception next year as one of the campaign for freedom in Malaysia.

Men 41 years and the government are hoping the people of Malaysia can be more open to homosexuals like himself. The plan is still going although he did get a lot of opposition from politicians Muslim Malaysia.

One that gives the loudest opposition is the Minister of Islamic Affairs of Malaysia, Jamil Khir Baharom. He said that although sexual orientation is a fundamental human rights, but homosexuals are extreme freedom and can lead to negative social phenomena in the future.

"In our civil law, same-sex marriage is prohibited. Because we are also the law, a man must marry a woman. Fellow men, other women, are prohibited," said Baharom as presented in the Malaysia Today website.

Pastor Feng moved to the U.S. in 1998 to study theology. Here he met his fiancee plan to marry same-sex and the next year. This tattooed preacher had issued a book-themed gay and Christian. Feng built a small church on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.In his church, many of his congregation who is also homosexual.

"When gays remain silent, then the public does not know what it is gay and homosexual. Because of ignorance that is the discrimination and prejudice arise," said Feng.

In Muslim majority countries like Malaysia, gays will be punished severely. Perpetrators of sodomy in this country will be sentenced to 20 years. While the gay bars are usually destroyed.
